From Yaki to UBON: A Story of

Family and Passion.

Located just steps from Brussels’ Grand-Place

The adventure began in 2006. Our family settled in the heart of Brussels with the opening of Yaki Sainte-Catherine, followed in 2013 by Yaki Grand-Place. These years spent by your side allowed us to perfect our craft and share our love for Thai gastronomy.

The pandemic period was a time of reflection for us. We felt the need to give our Grand-Place establishment a more personal, more intimate identity. Thus, UBON Thaï Isan was born: a desire to differentiate ourselves and return to the very essence of our roots.

The journey to Ubon Ratchathani

The name UBON was not chosen by chance. It pays tribute to the city of Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand, where our parents lived. Located in the famous Isan region, this land is world-renowned for its vibrant street food and its cuisine of character, both authentic and generous.

By stepping through our doors, it is a piece of this terroir that we invite you to discover in the center of Brussels.

A total commitment, from family to plate

Today, the torch has been passed. My sister and I manage the establishment from A to Z. We are present every day, on every front: from the morning prep and cooking to management and service.

The heart of our kitchen rests on a well-kept secret: our father. He is the one who prepares all our sauces daily according to family recipes passed down through generations. Whether it is our Pad Thai, our Thai Basil, or our Tom Yum and Tom Kha broths, every flavor is 100% homemade.
